They had stopped in an island called Traición. A nice summer island, full of holm oaks, long forgotten castles and roses fields with the sharpest thorns Monet had ever seen. They didn’t stop in the capital, but in a small village full of white houses that contrasted wonderfully with the blue of the sea and the sky.

There were roses everywhere in the streets, but people didn’t touch them. Those thorns were dangerous. She had heard there were roses in the other side of the city, called the Roses of Betrayal, which thorns were highly poisonous, but those roses were the most beautiful of them all, with petals that seemed made of velvet from a dark red like wine. She would love to see them, but they would stop in the island only to restock and wait for the Log Pose to charge, and apparently that would take around two days.

The crew would be staying in the inn for the night, it was nice to have solid ground where to sleep every once in a while, and prices there were so ridiculous that Barto gladly paid for their stay. The crew needed all the rooms in that small inn, so Barto and her ended up getting rooms in the hotel across the street. Nicely decorated rooms that smelled like white roses. It had bright deep blue and teal colors that contrasted with the warm wood and white walls, so Monet was really satisfied with the rooms they got. The bathroom was spacious, with different gels, a den den mushi, huge white towerls and a big bath tub she couldn’t wait to try, and after telling Barto that she would be taking a bath she closed her door, opened the water taps and waited for the bath tub to be half full to get in. She undressed, looking at her almost six months belly, rubbing it affectionately and smiling at her reflection in the mirror before stepping into the bath tub.

The water eased the weight of her belly. She had been suffering from lower back pains for a few days now and that was indeed relieving. She felt the weakening effect of the water on her, but she ignored it. It felt better to be in the water than outside of it at that moment. Closing her eyes and resting against the bath tub’s wall she decided to relax before her brother came back. Thirty minutes afterwards she was pretty relaxed, but she thought it might be the time to get out of the bathtub, get dry and dressed because Barto would be there soon. As soon as she opened her eyes she felt her heart stop from the shock.

There was blood in the water. She quickly examined her skin, but there wasn’t any cut there, so there was just an option left.

She was bleeding.

Something was wrong with the baby. She stood up instantly, her hand reaching for the towel and wrapping it around her body, a white towel that would soon be a mess if she kept bleeding, and she grasped the Den Den Mushi, instantly dealing, praying that he would pick up soon. She could feel her legs shaking as the fear unleashed inside of her. There was something wrong with the baby, what if she lost it? As soon as the call was answered she spoke, her voice slightly high pitched because of the fear, although she was trying hard not to panick, but all she could think about was that there was something wrong with the baby, her baby.

— ❝ Law–!❞

                     Distressed, she started to shake.

— ❝ I’m bleeding– Law- something’s wrong with the baby–!❞
