Like a lightning bolt his little demon was off into the isles with a passing remark of ‘kay~’, a grin set on his face so wide it assured Law that he’d be stopping off at a takeaway on the way home, he didnt mind though, not really. Chay managed to swindle takeaway once a week anyway, it might as well be today.
Once he was sure Chay wouldn’t knock something over while searching for his new book, Law turned back to the greenette beside him, a small smile on his face “I’d love one“ Not that he’d have time to read it all in one setting but… He had breaks, he had before bed… he could spare a little time to read through a book surely. ”Do you have any recommendations, apparently you’re the pro“ According to Chay, Monet was the best thing since sliced bread.
He’d never known his little demon to take to someone so quickly. “…He really likes you, you know?” that in itself was probably the biggest compliment Law could give, Chay didnt usually take to women…
“Drags me to the car when he knows we’re coming here…”
Her smile wided, turning into a small grin. Monet was always pleased to hear kids liked coming to her humble bookstore. Hopefully she would inspire them enough as to make books something interesting enough that they would need on a daily basis. Not only people who read were smarter, but they were also much more polite.
— ❝ That flatters me.❞
She said, still smiling, grabbing her agenda from under her desk and putting it into the bag too. Then her amber eyes fell upon Law’s face.
— ❝ Books you might be interested in reading are upstairs so, if you follow me..❞
She walked past him, not waiting for an actual reply. Chay seemed pretty entertained looking through the shelves, so Monet assumed they would have a few minutes until the kid found one of his liking.
That room was considerably bigger than the one downstairs, filled with high shelves that covered the walls from the floor to the ceiling. Books of psychology, politics, philosophy, literature.. a bit of everything.
Monet gestured to the shelves. Everything was perfectly organized, so she was sure Law would manage to find something to read. If not, he could always ask her.
