Rayleigh extended his palm out a few seconds after her, his widened smile still plastered across his face. It was true that most all pirates knew his name, well, only the idiots who became pirates didn’t know it. heck, even Marines and bounty hunters knew and held his name in high regard, he was a man who had earned the respect of his peers and enemies alike.
The man gave her a gentle handshake and then promptly slipped his hands into the pockets of his spotted pants, his cape flapping in the wind slightly as he did so. “I’m just Old man Ray, or Rayleigh now.” The old man said, a laugh following that statement.
“I’m simply living my days in retirement.” He added. “What makes such a pretty woman come to the Archipelago on her own?"
Good lord, how shy she was to compliments about her looks. A blush quickly spread through her soft cheeks and she lowered her gaze, but she shook his hand firmly.
— ❝ Alright, Rayleigh it is then.❞
It felt odd not adding a ’-san’, nor any other honorific, but she wouldn’t ask again. The blush on her cheeks begun to disappear slowly as she spoke.
— ❝ I came here to see a friend, and to visit the island. I heard there are some nice libraries and interesting shops..❞
She said, and she wasn’t really lying. She was supposed to meet Vergo in a few days near the marine Grove.
