Ohhh~kay, this was it, the tough part. Law loved his family, they were mad as a basket of cats but he loved his family, truly, there were no better people in his life than they were, but convincing them that this, this whole charade was real? That would be tough.
See if there were any people on that planet, who knew how much he hated his boss, it was his family, they were the only people he could complain too and really the only people who complained too him about how much of a slave driver the woman seemed to be.
His mother… His mother would be the easiest, she was just happy to see him whenever she got the chance, she wouldn’t even question it as long as he appeared happy, Father… His father would be a smidge more difficult to convince, his sister, would tease him mercilessly and ask every question she could possibly think of because…. sister.
His Grandmother…. now his grandmother would be the hardest, sure she seemed nice, she was getting on in years and while she had the whole loving grandma thing to her, she’d never lost her sharp wit, her intellect had never wavered, sharper than shattered glass that one, if he wavered even once, she’d pick up on it.
The plane landed shakily, bumping along the small runway as only a shaky little two engine could “Okay… first three things you should know, one: yes… that is my family, two:—” he paused for a second, glancing out the window at the bouncy family waiting for him behind the gates, oh god his sister was there, could he just go back to New York now he’d changed his mind. “—Don’t mention my grandmother’s age… like… don’t even reference it, unless it’s to tell her she doesn’t look a day over 20, even though it’s her 90th birthday just don’t” he then turned to look back at her, a sheepish grin appearing on his face as if to apologise ahead of schedule “and third: I’m actually almost sorry for how crazy my sister will drive you”
It was probably how he’d put up with Monet for so long… he’d lived with his batty little sister for longer.
Monet took a mental note of all the explanation given. It was fairly easy though. Not referencing the grandma’s age and being patient with Law’s sister. She was positive she could manage. But she was wrong.

She gave them a sweet smile, one that threatened to fade as they started talking. “She’s so pretty! Why didn’t you tell me she was this pretty?” Lamy said and Monet could already feel the blush creeping up her cheeks. “You got lucky!” and that tiny and pale girl gave Law a playful punch on his shoulder, one that didn’t seem so playful to her.
The grandma was studying her body in a very shameless way. “Wide hips, she’ll be good for bearing sons…” Monet was glad that Law’s mom told the grandma to gave her a break and to not embarass her, at least yet. From the lot Law’s mom seemed to be the most normal one, and she gave Monet a hug. “It is nice to meet you too, Monet.” Monet returned the hug a bit awkwardly. She had never been one down for public displays of affection, not even with people she knew well, let alone with complete strangers.
But this is a part of the show, so just.. act normal. She had to remind herself. As normal as she could act considering she didn’t like that kind of events, but Lamy certainly made it easier. She wouldn’t stop talking about how much she wanted to visit New York because Law never had the time to visit her, to which Monet said that if she wanted to visit them she could anytime. She began talking about how cool the clothes Monet was wearing were, about her having imagined Law’s boss as an old and ugly woman. She did comment a few more times on Monet’s looks, making her blush slightly.
What she couldn’t help but to notice, as they went through what she assumed it was the main street of that city, that Law’s surname was written everywhere. She did turn to look at him, giving him a questioning look as they went through another building that had his family name written on it.
She asked him on a whisper as she got out of the car, not noticing they were on the docks.
