Though their resemblance didn’t seem to go past physical attributes, more of what they had in common came in the form quiet mannerism anyway.

With an arm loosely draped around her shoulder, Bartolomeo led her down the pier where his ship had been docked. Though there was no hiding the Jolly Roger of his ship, he at least was thoughtful enough to make port closer to the outskirts where there was less traffic.

As the ship came to view, various crew members had clambered over the railing with cries of “Captain! Cap’s back!”, which elicited a wide grin from him even as he leaned over to murmur to Monet.

“I dunno what ya been up to, Mone, but if ya need some time t’yerself, I’ll jus’ show ya t’my room.”

And that was all he said about that before forming a barrier in the form of stairs that took them up to the ship. Expectant gazes came from the crew as Bartolomeo officially introduced her, appearing as laid-back as he always did though his grip around her slender shoulder had tightened a fraction.

“Alright e’rrbody, this is Monet. Monet, this is err’body. She’s gonna be stayin’ with us for a while, so no givin’ her shit. Whatever she needs she gets.”

He responded to the teasing tones of his staff officer about their resemblance, or lack thereof, with a middle finger before dismissing his crew to their duties and to raise anchor, before letting his attention fall back to his sister.

“Ya want somethin’ t’eat or rest? I know it’ll take a bit t’get used to these ugly mugs.” Again, he responded to his crew’s playful jeers with middle fingers, grinning all the while.

Seeing how Barto’s crewmates greeted him, how they were undoubtedly happy of seeing him back brought a smile to her lips. Hobos, misfits, it didn’t mind to her. They were the ones that took care of her brother daily, since she was always too far away, and only for that they had already her gratitude.

The clicking of her heels over the wooden deck made a sigh of relief escape her. She was so close to finally leaving that island…

— ❝ That would be great.❞

She answered. Going to his room and being able to rest was all she wanted to do at the moment. Sleep and forget, and hopefully making that nausea disappear. When she raised her head to take a better look at Barto’s crew and greet them she saw all those sky lanterns in the sky, getting reflected on the sea water, and Monet felt terrible.

Law said that she loved her and she had abandoned him. That would torture her for a while, she already knew it. She waved her hand at Barto’s crewmates.

— ❝ It’s nice to meet you all.❞

She said politely. Closing her eyes momentarily before turning and looking at Barto. The idea of eating something brought a new wave of nausea that she tried to ignore the best she could. Now that she was finally onboard and that she could suposedly relax she felt exhausted, and that exhaustion was showing in her face.

— ❝ I’d like to rest. Where is your room?❞

She asked her brother. She knew she had to tell him what happened, but she would do so the next day. Now she just wanted to sleep..
