As much as she liked to be spontaneous there where things Monet loved to plan in advance, and birthdays was one of those things. It was some sort of ritual for her. She always found the way to give Barto a present even if it was something simple as a photo, independently of where he could be. Yes, sometimes those presents arrived late, or early, but she always found someone who she trusted that would give the birthday boy or girl the present on time, and on the Heart Pirates crew that trusted someone had been Bepo.
Monet found the perfect present months ago, after long calls to Baby Five, bribing Dellinger to convince Diamante, and finally she got it. All that while Law was away on a Shichibukai mission. She asked Bepo to hide it in his room, since Law would probably end up finding it in their bedroom. She ignored if Bepo kept it still, if he had given it to Law already or if he considered it trash after she left, but some odd feeling told her that it wasn’t the later. Monet didn’t think Bepo would ever get rid of that. Not before showing it to Law wouldn’t him?
Inside of a carefully wrapped in black paper there was a light yellow box, and inside of it, under a piece of paper that wished him a Happy Birthday, cleaned and carefully folded there was a red hat. A red hat, like a hood, with two long stripes that ended up forming a heart on each end.
Maybe it was something too personal to give, but Monet thought that if someone had to have it, that someone was Law.
